Chester is in fact the new leader singer of Stone Temple Pilots

Here’s the Video of him confirming this.

He also said that he’s going to stay one of the frontmen for Linkin Park, and that they are indeed working on their 6th album.

Umm could they have chosen a better person?

I get how this is really freaky to STP fans, but he’s actually the best person out there.

He’s not looking to take over STP and make it his own, he already has Linkin Park. If Scott got his shit together then Chester could bow out with no drama because he’s got LP, AND he’s a fan of the band so he’d probably be happy to see Scott back.

Maybe this will get Scott into rehab, or at least taking a good look at his life and try to turn it around.

Also Chester currently sings a lot better then Scott has been.

The majority’s reaction to Star Trek Into Darkness

My reaction

Here’s what I found wrong/just didn’t like

They’re arguing over the Prime Directive? THEY HAD THEIR FUCKING SHIP ON THE PLANET. UNDER. WATER. Fuck physics I guess. Not like this is a SCIENCE fiction drama or anything. And having the ship OBSERVE from space? What a ridiculous idea it should just be on the planet.
Vengeful!Kirk barely gets a pass because he’s all biker dude in this AU. He got pressured into making the right choice.
Carol, who is such a wonderful character from TOS has the COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY strip scene. What was the purpose? In fact what was her purpose in the film? She didn’t sway her dad or do anything except get hurt.
John Harrison’s whole plot line
What was inside the torpedoes.
Star Fleet not being the Star Fleet it’s supposed to be.
All the deaths, including in the first movie with Vulcan, being used as a character devices.
“Magic blood”

Keep in mind that this blood was available in the 1990s and only now they discovered it’s uses?
Spock and Uhura acting like a bunch of six year olds. I mean seriously how unprofessional did they make Uhura look by bitching about her relationship, in front of the Captain, right before a huge mission?
How they handled “The Big Reveal”. Let’s just say that as a TOS fan you knew what was up from the trailer, and if you’re not a TOS fan then the big “I am asjkfa;” meant nothing because you didn’t know who the hell that character was. I mean ugh.
Not enough Karl Urban and Simon Pegg to bring this movie up a notch.
The fate of Harrison’s character was SO DUMB. After all they said about trials and justice, they decided that that ending was ok?
Quinto epically failing doing the famous TOS line. Serious epic fail.

So again, did I watch the same movie. WTF did you enjoy? All the pretty lights? Which to give Abrams his due he does create beautiful stuff. London was gorgeous. Oh but to add another bullet.

Not enough space, too much Earth

Besides the scenery and action sequences, I’m really at a loss how you could say 5 mins after the movie that it was a quality film. During the movie it purposely movies so quick so you don’t notice the bullshit.

I’m just so confused by people saying it was better than the first, or “excellent”. I guess style does beat substance.

Thoughts: I have a problem with reading Destiel with Angel!Cas so I really should stick to the AUs. This one was pretty good. I liked that the author gave a reason why Castiel was so socially awkward. Also I’m a big sucker for angsty!Dean. I really liked how slow Castiel and Dean were at getting together. And then after they did I liked the problems they faced, more then just the “Dean freaks about not being hetero”. Plus they were so adorable. Also a fan of any fic that has Mary in it and being a mom to Dean and Sam.

Also on the livejournal link the author has done several short sequels about 1-4K long.

Star Trek Into Darkness thoughts, major spoilers under the cut

Taking a second to reflect I think I only like this Star Trek version because of Pike, Kirk, Scotty, Sulu, and Bones. Especially Bones. Karl Urban does a great job and I really wish he had been in this more considering how much Bones was involved in the TOS version.

Uhura isn’t written very well and NEED MORE CAROL WTF WAS THAT?

Quinto isn’t exactly my cup of tea for Spock. Like some parts were good. The Khan scream was embarrassing. Plus when Nimoy pops up you just wish he could age back and do the character all over again.

Angsty, reckless Kirk works for me because of his background. Of course I miss non womanizing nerdy Kirk, but Pine is doing the best with what he has to work with.

Benedict… no. You needed a bigger dude. I mean Benedict is a great actor so he wasn’t “bad”, but it was a bit of a hard sell. Maybe just seeing him on Tumblr as nice Benedict I couldn’t be made to believe he was a war monger.

I think their biggest mistake was trying to redo Star Trek’s most famous (in my opinion) movie, Wrath of Khan. Especially since they did a Space Seeds/Wrath of Khan weird hybrid. There’s a reason TOS did it separately. They could and should have done anything else.

Things I did like. All the Pike/Kirk scenes. At least the introduction of Carol, though IDK where they’re going with it.

Kirk/Spock was better this movie, and I believed it more. Not like Shatner/Nimoy, and to be honest if it weren’t for Shatner/Nimoy I wouldn’t buy it at all. It’s like when you read an AU fic and the characters get together really fast. You believe it because you are already sold on the idea of them being together, so no real groundwork is needed.

Still I think Pine sold it SO WELL. Much better then Quinto, who I felt still doesn’t know exactly how to play Spock. I understand it’s an AU where because of Uhura and what happened to his planet he probably embraces his human side a little more, but it still played weird to me. But for the most part I enjoyed all the Kirk/Spock scenes.

Also I really liked the Khan/Spock fight. That was the one thing they did better then TOS because it’s more believable to me that a phaser/Vulcan would beat Khan more then a Pipe/Kirk. :P

Beautiful special effects as always. 99% chance I rewatch because I understood not a word from Chekov on this bootleg, and seeing it in HD would help because a good portion of why this movie is worth watching is for the special effects.

They get points for not doing Wrath of Khan exactly the same, but lose points because 1. It’s too soon for Kirk/Spock to have this moment. 2. Spock’s Khan scream was so embarrassing 3. Khan’s blood saved Kirk. Really. Even for this Trek fan that was a bit too much. 4. Doing both Space Seeds and Wrath of Khan made it way too fast

I’d be curious what someone who hasn’t watched TOS would think of this movie. I think with my foreknowledge I’m judging this maybe too harshly, but I think that should have been anticipated when they decided to take this on.
